Don’t be a prisoner of your body.

Think you’ll finally be happy, truly live life and love your body when you have that six pack? When you have that perfect ass and toned arms? Think again.

When your happiness is attached to how your body looks, that thought traps you. It makes you a prisoner of your mirror. How happy, how fully can you live when you can only drink lemon water and eat kale and quinoa? When you totally dim and suppress your passion for food or wine, beer, or cooking?

What kind of life are you left with? You dread family dinners, picnics, going out to dinner, birthday parties, walking into your kitchen. But hey-you have a six pack right?!

Make your aim to love, nourish, and respect your body. Absolutely take care of your one and only precious body.

Treat it right: eat the rainbow, feed it the type of diet that agrees with it best, and don’t shove it full of processed shit and chemicals. Move: do yoga, swim, bike, dance, walk-whatever you enjoy. Not what the latest workout quick fix trend is. Not go to the gym and kill yourself.

How does counting every calorie nourish your mind? How does running your body ragged respect it? Let go of that made up number in your head that you “should” weigh. If all you can eat is one protein shake a day to maintain your “weight,” do you really think that is a healthy happy weight for you?! No.

Love every curve, or lack of curve you have. Every “imperfection” society or an ex-lover says you have. Those curves allow you to walk, breathe, and bear children-create life; the biggest miracle of them all. Take a moment to absorb that one.

See your body with the loving eyes in which it was created. Love every single inch. You were created exactly as you are, without one duplicate in the whole entire universe-own it! Why change it?!

Guess what-even if you don’t want to love it-you are stuck with it. You can’t change it, so embrace it! Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy.

Don’t be prisoner of your body.

See how free you become when you embrace it all, love it all and live it all.
