A Rebelle’s 2014 Resolution: This is Our Time — Let’s Give it All We Got.

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language
And next year’s words await another voice.”
― T.S. Eliot

2013 has been life altering, to say the least, for the Rebelle Society Team.

We’ve worked incredibly oh-so-hard — but time goes by fast and effort is underrated when you are fueled by purpose and armed with creativity.

In the process of becoming alive and true to ourselves and our ideas, we’ve managed to inspire and be inspired in return by countless of kindred spirits and attract some of the finest talent we’ve had the pleasure of working with — creators, dreamers, crazies, misfits and expressive troublemakers from all around the world — who have shared our vision / their vision and walked with us along the way, giving us the strength to get up and keep creating ourselves from the inside out, every damn day.

Over the course of this year, we’ve expanded beyond our wildest expectations and we’ve managed to bring our creatively maladjusted, self-funded, grassroots, virtual country occupied by the Art of Being Alive, from 85,000 viewers a month (last December) to 1,200,000+ (this December), through organic growth and by following the principles of a heart-based business, mastering and bending the flexible rules of creativity, trusting our intuition and relying on our imagination.

Finally, to put an epic end to 2013, we just published our first Best of Rebelle Society book, a compilation of the best articles shared on RebelleSociety.com during our first year of life — a golden volume that includes selected stories by 50 authors — now ranking in the top 3 on Amazon’s Hot New Releases and in the top 20 on Amazon’s Sellers (Essays).

Here’s a collage of some of our Rebelles receiving the book at their doorstep. Ecstatic falls short to describe the co-creation feeling.

So thank you, 2013 for kicking our creative ass so hard and yet so right.

And thank YOU, every pair of hands who’ve shared their hopes and pain and art and dreams on these pages, and YOU TOO, every pair of eyes, who was open to receive it and recycle it into more aliveness, through your own story.

Here is to making 2014 your biggest creative production!

A resolution may be something we do or create once a year, but creative expression is a walk, talk and dance we do 365 days a year — with every breath we take.

Every minute counts, every heartbeat is creation, every thought is another chance to build the kind of world you can’t wait to live in, through the script of your life, and at the heartbeat of your own storytelling. The rules are yours. You can erase what doesn’t fit, you can cross out what doesn’t give you life, and when you think you’re done, you can start over. You are the author and the book. This is your time.

Our resolution for 2014 is mostly, a question, pointing at your heart: What will you do with your one short and precious life? Aim high. Be unrealistic. Be true. Give it all you’ve got. You’re unrepeatable and unreplaceable.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

~ H. Jackson Brown, Jr., P.S. I love you
