Your Task Is To Love, There. {poetry}

When we come from a place of lack, we limit ourselves.

Believing that the next best thing is what we need,

When we come from this place, believing that what we are working with

Will not naturally re-shape to fill us in the ways we need,

Is to believe that our desires are always to be in the light.

Saying that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side,

Is not an ancient equation meant to force or oppress.

It is meant to show that there is beauty in deepening connection,

In seeking the deeper layers of communion with what we already have.

There are times to take space.

There are times to leave and fly.

This freedom is necessary,

But sometimes it is the medicine needed to sit in the space of discomfort and to love,

There.

In the realization that it is possible to have everything you need at this time.

Where can you thrive in the presence?

Can you find surrender in this, too?

It is not always complacency to hold trust in a relationship that is challenging.

It is not always limiting to believe that the external must be changed.

I see it in the quickness of change in partnership, in the intimate space from which

We all run once our demons are found out.

The task is to love,

There.

Your task is to love, in the times of hurt,

In the times when the looming fear of losing overshadows the present beauty.

Can you love yourself in the reflection of what you believe you are lacking?

How can you fill the space with love, instead of fear of missing out?

There are times to leave.

There are times to flee without return.

There are times to seek protection.

And She will always show you when it is that time.

But what about the moments of fog?

The hole in your heart cannot be filled with the newest lover,

Or furthest town.

There is love to be found in the moments of lack.

When we can learn to come from a space of abundance,

That what you have is already enough,

Then She will come to fill your life with what you believe you are lacking.

It is inside of you.

And it is in the depths of connection between those whom you believe

You are not worthy of anymore.

Or who you believe are not worthy of you.

There are times to seek protection from those who are not serving your highest expression.

And there are times to sit in the medicine of discomfort,

And love,

There.

There is always choice.

Sometimes, there is not a clear answer.

She asks us only to look inside and question if the movement is from inadequacy

Or from growth.

There is medicine in discomfort.

Sometimes this looks like breathing into confusion instead of security,

By leaving the spaces we have grown accustomed to,

Leaving a partnership or friendship that has proved harmful.

But sometimes, there is the alternative.

To dose the medicine in choosing to transmute a surface layer stagnancy

To see what other multitudes of healing can be done underneath it all.

Do you flee because you believe you are unworthy?

Is your decision to leave masked by an underlying fear of losing what is close?

There is no blame in this, if it is so.

A difficult conversation can lead to many new paths if only it is given

The space to breathe.

If the darkness is given space to be heard,

If the fear of losing is given voice,

Then there may be healing in choosing presence.

There are many layers to the reasons in which we seek the

Next best thing.

She is asking us to reflect, and often

The choice that is most painful is the only choice to make.

It is not always clear.

It is almost never easy.

The plunge of fear is not always to leave,

The plunge of fear is not always to release what is hard.

Sometimes the task is to love what is hard, what is ugly,

In order to cease a cycle, in order to grow beyond what you have known.

Sometimes, the task is to give life to the darkness

And find that, through proper care, the shadows are able to make their way

To a new home

Instead of lingering in the forgotten corners of what was left behind.

Giving breath does not always give into insanity.

Giving life, is giving the ability to choose from your highest incarnation

From the highest vibration of truth

So that there are no more starved elements, no more places untouched

In the heart of the mother.
