Woman with a rock where your heart should be, I feel the quiet beating underneath. The knowing that something fierce in you is still living, even when you say it is long gone and buried.
Have patience, dear one. You are coming up for air from the ocean of their control. Crawl out of their icy grasps, and onto the shore of your body.
Here in your freedom and nakedness, you are delicious. God Herself craves you. You own Her primal needs: the holy urge to be soulfully ravaged, to be fully felt, to be truly seen. With this alive and well in your body, all that is not Divine craves you too. Before you understood your right to choose, you settled for their embrace, and were pelted with the rocks of their vengeance.
No matter which way you play it, you are a whore in their eyes, and the rose between your thighs feels like a distant memory. A mirage on the horizon as the sun is setting.
Do you remember what it felt like before you believed you were sinful? Do you remember what it felt like to swim in the ocean of your soul?
Listen to your body, she knows.
Your breasts remember the holy oil poured over every inch.
Your hands remember every time you touched your skin and God Herself quivered.
Your lips remember the food you put on her altar, the sweetness of your deepest pleasure.
Your tongue remembers the ancient language that honored the priestess, before you were taught to forget.
Your feet remember the softness of rose petals. They were lavished with the sanctity of sacred space around your body.
I tell you now: you still have the key to return to this ancient world — the world that you carry alive and well in your womb.
The womb that has survived many deaths and births. Your womb of sunlight and thunder. You chose what lived and what you let go.
They tried to tell you that you could kill the life inside you without dying, but you knew better: you have died a million times, and been born a million times. You are allowed to feel this thing just like you are allowed to be unapologetically you.
And this is where your freedom lies:
It is not in the beautiful poetry etched on your arm.
It is not in the right boots, the right jewelry, the right jade egg, the right slavery to a new tradition.
It is not in the knowing of your spirit animal, or spirit tribe, or wearing the right crystals around your neck.
It is in how you jump from the waters of their lies into the ocean of your truth. How you confront your wounds one by one, lock the door, and do not let yourself out until you know what they all were for.
You are the brave one. You are the one left standing. You feel it all deep in your chest: the thawing, the waking up to the holiness of your breath. You are seduced by your every move, and nothing or no one can take that from you.
That is all you need.
And that is what saves you now.
