Disrobing Our Layered Life Costumes: Let’s Share the Parts That House Our Secrets.

You can meet me underneath the banyan tree in the early morning hours. We can sip our coffee and share stories of our untold adventures.
And when the sun peeks over the horizon and creates a wordless picture of sparkles and abundance on its surface, tell me something raw and real and true.
Let the words that fall out of your lips reveal centuries of old wounding and shame. Let us hear each other without preconceived ideas and notions about what is right or wrong or different. Let us see the vulnerable parts of each other, the parts that house our secrets, the parts that we dare not show the world that watches in waiting with silent hopes that we’ll fail.
And as we sit in silence and let the birds say what they need to say and let the wind speak through the leaves, let our eyes find each other’s souls and let us fall back into love. Let us remember the sacred truth that exists within each other, that exists within all. Let us remember that our skin merely represents the outer layer of the costumes we have chosen for this life.
Let the touch we feel underneath fingertips remind us that connection exists far under the surface of perception. Let the words that have passed between us like daggers being thrown across an empty field be cleared out so that all that remains is a garden of lavender and roses.
Come to me without defenses, with hunched shoulders and resignation. Come not with your heart guarded with stories, but with an open mind and a freedom to love as Goddess intended. Come to me in humility as I come to you. Let us share in each other’s pain and heal the parts of us that only you and I are capable of doing in this life.
Let the unhealed traumas be healed. Let our broken hearts be mended. Let us kiss away the sadness and the feelings of unworthiness that exist as the underlying current of our many and varied lifetimes upon this earth. Let the dirt and mud that squishes between our toes connect us to the breath of our hearts, the breath of the earth, and the breath of God.
I don’t want false bravado and the lies that you tell everyone else. I want to hear you speak in ways that you dare not speak to others. I want to know your feelings and your thoughts. Yes, I want to know your stories, but when all is said and done, I want a new story to define us. One without roles of victim and abuser. One without shame and guilt. A story from the One who remembers your truth.
Why did you come here, dear one? Was it simply out of boredom?
Or was it to experience the raw and vulnerable space within? Did you come here to strip naked of the armor you’ve been carrying? Did you come here to make love to the divine source energy?
I hope so.
Because when all is said and done, I hope that the loving energy that you and I create in this time-space reality is anchored in this earth. I hope that our shared love is remembered and felt within the hearts of all beings who walk their path. I hope that the echoes of our souls finding each other again will be forever imprinted upon the face of this planet.
And much like the banyan tree, I hope the roots of love that we have planted into the soil will only continue to grow and deepen and bend and shift and transmute in the way that only we intended upon our arrival.
