I’m Vegan, I Meditate, I Chant, I Do Yoga, I Pray, but My Life Still Sucks!

You are a raw vegan.

You meditate twice daily for an hour, chant for an additional 30 minutes, pray almost obsessively, and you’ve mastered the Crane Pose through your daily yoga practice, ultimately, in the wise words of JP Sears, you are spiritual AF, but your life is just not getting better.

Truth be told, as you’ve brought all these incredible tools into your life, it has only gotten worse.

What am I doing wrong?

Who fails at spirituality, awakening and enlightenment?

Why is this happening to me?

I got spiritual because I heard through the grapevine that it would make my life better. My life sucks more now than when I started.

Help me!

Consciously inviting the light to infuse your being is the beginning of sacred healing contract with the Divine.

You’ve started the healing process. The only question now is: How fast do you want your healing to go?

It’s a very practical question with a very simple answer.

How much of your totality will you continue to deny?

All the spiritual practices you have chosen gave permission to the light to infuse you with healing.

Now, resistance is not just futile, it’s downright painful.

You cannot invite the light into your body with high-vibration food, sacred sounds, one-on-one talks with God, quiet periods of listening and divine movement, yet still deny pieces of you calling out to be seen, heard and loved.

There is only one way for that decision to go. The denied self will simply get louder, consequently increasing the challenges in life used to get your attention on the things you are overlooking.

What exactly does that look like, you ask?

First it looks like a quiet calling, a gentle suggestion. The Universe will say, “Here is what you’ve overlooked.”

This could be an ache in your body, a persistent unkind person in your life, a billboard you happen to notice all over town.

These Universal cues are the easy path to healing. Don’t ignore them. Honor all of them. Sit with all of them. Ask Source for help to decipher them, then, and here is the kicker, do not ignore the calls for action that are given to you.

Don’t ignore them, because eventually the Universe will get pushy.

That looks like losing your job, getting a cancer diagnosis, coming home to find your partner in your bed with someone else. It looks like complete and total decimation.

But here is the truth: that is, in fact, not the Universe getting bossy

It is the Universe responding to the vibration of light that you invited into your being. It is simply you being directed more succinctly into the direction you asked to go.

Resisting the light that you’ve invited into your being and thinking you have the power to selectively direct it only to what and how you want to heal, that is denial of the highest order.

That is simply inviting an excruciating battle between light and dark to go on within your being.

Hitting the Snooze button on the wake-up call of the Universe is going to make the Universe assume it needs to ring louder and more often.

“You didn’t hear the whisper, let me tap you on the shoulder.”

“You ignored the tap, let me put it on a billboard for you.”

“Didn’t see the billboard, huh? Okay.”

Next is the mother of all Universal smackdowns.

It is simply the Universe responding to your request for light, for healing.

Your life is not getting worse. It is simply trying with all its might to answer your prayers to get better.

Invite the light in and it will eventually illuminate all areas of your being, all facets of your life. The only thing stopping the work, stalling the healing, is you.

The moment we wake up and realize that the food, the meditation, the chanting, the yoga and the prayer have got to be coupled with the deep inner emotional work is the moment life will get better, easier.

When we stop resisting, by cutting unhealthy patterns and people from our lives, when we learn to sit quietly with all pieces of ourselves, including the parts that scare us, is the moment we move into alignment with Universal purpose, with the truth of love, with what we asked for when we prayed for healing.

In this coming year, it is time to open our eyes wide to what we are pretending not to see, to own our power and our responsibility for our own healing. It is time to stop being a victim to the Universe and to see clearly, all along, Source has simply been trying to answer our prayers we just don’t get to control how that happens.

It is time to lean in, to surrender, to open.

It is time to see vulnerability as the incredible strength that it is.

It is time to see that we are worthy of an amazing life, of our best selves.

You’ve invited the light in, now it is time to allow it to move freely to every cell of your being.

May 2019 by the year we all give ourselves over to the truth of healing, love and light.
