Bohemian Horoscopes: May 2020.
Aries (March 21-April 20)
May is a marvelous month to boost your brain cells and study something new. But when it comes to social media, be very careful who you connect with and what you post as Venus reverses through your communication zone (from May 13 until June 25). You’re keen to catch up on the latest neighborhood news, but resist the temptation to spread salacious gossip. If you stretch the truth in dubious directions, then you’ll be caught out. So make sure you stick to the facts and figures, especially when you’re connecting with relatives and members of your local community.
Taurus (April 21-May 21)
May could be a confronting month as Venus (your patron planet) reverses through your money zone (from May 13 until June 25). So it’s time to sit down and review and re-calibrate your financial situation. With a responsible attitude and plenty of patience, you can gradually turn things around. Energy levels will also be low and relationships heavy-going. Try to be a flexible Bull because things won’t run according to your preconceived plans. The best way to approach current delays, difficulties and roadblocks is to tap into your reserves of patience and resilience.
Gemini (May 22-June 21)
Venus reverses through your sign (from May 13 until June 25) so expect your usual confidence to wane and your love life to stall. Plus friendships will be frustrating and family relationships will be rocky. It’s also not a good time to get a radical new haircut or buy an expensive new outfit. You’re keen to zoom ahead around the time of the New Moon in Gemini (on May 22) but remember there’s a fine line between making smart snap decisions and messy mistakes. You need to be prudent and patient as you steer clear of fake news, unreliable people and flighty friends.
Cancer (June 22-July 23)
Social distancing, self-isolation and lockdown laws mean you’ll have to hunker down at home, which is your favorite place to be. With Mercury, retrograde Venus and the New Moon activating your contemplation zone, you’re keen to retreat into your cozy Crab cave where you feel safe and secure. So solo activities like yoga, meditation, cooking, cleaning, crafting, reading and journal writing are highlighted. Your mantra for May is from actress Audrey Hepburn, “I’m an introvert… I love being by myself. I have to be alone very often. That’s how I refuel.”
Leo (July 24-August 23)
Lions are social creatures who can find social distancing, isolation and lockdown difficult. And with party planet Venus retrograde (from May 13 until June 25) don’t expect your social life to be revived anytime soon. So make sure you keep in regular contact with family, friends and colleagues via phone, social media and video chat. Then the New Moon (on May 22) pushes you to create your preferred future via a practical plan and a patient approach. So your motto is from activist Malcolm X, “The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
Virgo (August 24-September 23)
With Venus reversing through your career zone (from May 13 until June 25) be careful what you post, text, tweet and email to colleagues, clients and/or customers. Then the New Moon (on May 22) revs up your reputation and work zone, so don’t hide your versatile Virgo talents. Be proud to show the world what you are truly capable of. And if you make a mistake, don’t let negative self-talk drag you down. Be inspired by actress Joan Collins, “Show me a person who has never made a mistake, and I’ll show you somebody who has never achieved much.”
Libra (September 24-October 23)
With pleasure-planet Venus reversing through your travel zone (from May 13 until June 25) holiday plans will be on the back-burner for some time. You can still keep trawling through travel brochures and dreaming about exotic destinations though, as you plan your ideal itinerary for 2021 and beyond. Librans love to shop and socialize, but with Venus in retrograde mode, put off making major romantic decisions (and purchasing big-ticket items) until at least late June. What you like now won’t be so appealing in the future, so be patient, save your hard-won pennies, and wait.
Scorpio (October 24-November 22)
Courtesy of the Full Moon (on May 7), retrograde Venus (from May 13) and the New Moon (on the 22nd) deep and lasting transformation is the name of the game this month. But don’t waste precious time trying to control those around you. Focus on yourself as you ask some important questions. Can you reinvent the way you interact in a close relationship, pivot in a new professional direction, or transform your physical appearance? Inspiration comes from entertainer Cher, “The only thing in the world you can change is yourself, and that makes all the difference.”
Sagittarius (November 23-December 21)
Single Sagittarians, during the coronavirus crisis, the search for your soul mate takes a further nosedive, as Venus reverses through your romance zone (from May 13 until June 25). Attached Archers, is your house-bound partner cramping your style? Stop focusing on their perceived faults and instead, start appreciating their positive qualities. Or has a friend done something that has upset you? Don’t give them the cold shoulder. As Audrey Hepburn reminds us, “People have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed. Never throw out anyone.”
Capricorn (December 22-January 20)
With Venus reversing through your work and well-being zone (from May 13 until June 25) it’s not an ideal time to start a diet, get a gym membership or apply for a new job. Saturn (your ruler) and Jupiter also turn retrograde, which will drain your energy, stymie motivation and stall projects. So be patient and take the time to reconsider and re-calibrate your plans. Saturn particularly cautions you to review your financial position and set a much more sustainable course for the future. Jupiter also requires you to reflect on the true meaning of life and keep things in perspective.
Aquarius (January 21-February 19)
Venus, Jupiter and Saturn all turn retrograde during the month of May. So, from the vantage point of social distancing or self-isolation, you need to review and prioritize the people in your world. Has an old relationship finally run out of steam? Is a fair-weather friend criticizing your behavior and holding you back? Retro Venus and the New Moon urge you to bring in a big broom as you reassess your peer group, sweep away the debris, and discard negative influences. Make it a priority to surround yourself with positive individuals who nurture your talents and support your dreams.
Pisces (February 20-March 20)
On May 13th, Venus turns retrograde and Mars moves into your sign. So expect some quarantine blues, domestic dramas, sibling squabbles or schoolwork shenanigans as Venus reverses through your home zone. With proactive Mars in Pisces, you’ll feel more feisty than usual, so make the most of the energy surge and get things done and dusted. Then the New Moon (on the 22nd) encourages you to adjust your home/work ratio so it’s more balanced. As Audrey Hepburn observed, “I may not always be offered work, but I’ll always have my family.”
