There is so much collectivity in pain and so much isolation. But, I wonder if adults can break down.. and throw a temper tantrum at the injustice of it all.
The battle is as old as Arjuna’s,
Who thought he was fighting his cousins
And their lust for power
But was really up against
The evil
Of his own apathy
The standards we set in our personal lives, and for the larger world, should reflect our humanity, our worthiness, and who we are as people with inalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. So, let’s raise them.
My knowledge, insights, and skills didn’t rain from glitter-filled clouds from the night skies while angels sang me to sleep. Painful experiences shaped me.
Never again will we entertain this tyranny
that wears a thousand divisive masks
but is always a scared and greed-scarred child-man
hiding behind a curtain.
